Petition to Publish Cinderella 1957

Before you read on, please note the webmaster has received some indication from Rodgers and Hammerstein Organization (www.rnh.com) that Cinderella (1957) will be published on DVD in the fall of 2004. Another report from one of the petition signees suggests the release may be as early as Spring, 2004. Whichever it may be, this petition will remain until that blessed event (just in case some people don't do what they're supposed to do!) Signatures at the official collection site: PetitionOnline will still be recorded as well as the responses from the survey on this page, as a continuing proof of the wonderful support for the remastering of this great production. Now about the petition: The petition/survey was designed to collect signatures from all interested persons to create an awareness of the need to restore the videotape of the 1957 original live tv performance of Cinderella for publication because the webmaster like many fans believed this movie deserved more than to gather dust in some museum archive. It is more than a mere historical novelty, it is entertainment at its best and purest. Fans of the story of Cinderella, fans of the stars who worked so hard for that once in a lifetime performance (Julie Andrews, Jon Cypher, Edith Adams et al), fans of movies, and children of all ages should write in to the powers that be at CBS/Rodgers and Hammerstein or sign this simple form/survey to add your signature and show your support for this venture.
